Imagine LODG as a wheel with three spokes. Each spoke is designed to help support the wheel at a different point. We desire to Love Others because of our Love for God. The more we know about who God is, the more we love Him – so we value the teaching of God’s Word and prayer. The more we learn about God, the more we need to celebrate that love with other Christians – so we value singing and small groups. The more we celebrate God together, the more we want to bring other people along – so we value outreach to our community and our friends. That is the basic idea; below are some different programs that are designed to help do it.
LODG
We gather each Wednesday from 7 – 8:20 p.m. for a Jesus centered time of fun, followed by a time of singing and teaching from the Bible. Perhaps these five words can sum up a given Wednesday night: loud noises, laughter, sugar and Jesus. During a typical night of LODG, each student will laugh, learn and pray within a small group of their peers, then gather as a large group for a time of singing and challenge.
Sunday School
We meet every Sunday immediately following the morning worship service (10:30 – 11:30). This time is meant to parallel LODG, but is largely focused on biblical competency and learning.
Core Groups
We meet on Sunday each Sunday night from 5:30 – 7. Core Groups provide opportunities for students to get their hands dirty, their feet moving and their minds engaged. From stocking food pantries to organizing an outreach event to visiting nursing homes, these students will begin to use the gifts that God has given them to serve others.
Various Other Events
We try to plan an event or activity each month to provide each student an opportunity to invite a friend to come along with them. These events range from Ice Camp (a 3 day weekend) to a pizza party. Be sure to check out “What’s Going On” for more details.
